American Forces Targeted a 'Major Plant' in Venezuela, President Trump Asserted Lacking Offering Specifics.

Former President Trump has stated that US military assets hit a "major plant" in the South American country last week. Yet, the ex-leader offered no details on the precise purpose or site of the target, and officials have issued no further clarification from his administration.

Vague Remarks Offered In a Talk Show

"US forces just knocked out – I don't know if you read – they have a major complex, where the ships depart from. Two nights ago, we destroyed it. So we targeted them very hard," Trump allegedly informed GOP supporter and supermarket owner John Catsimatidis in a recent interview.

Potential Significance of a Verified Strike

Should a US military action is verified, it would mark the first ground target hit since the Pentagon initiated a buildup of American strike forces in the Caribbean region to disrupt narco-trafficking operations that the Trump administration claims operate under the authority of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.

The initial objective of the military buildup has since morphed into a blockade aimed at hindering the country's crude oil shipments.

Social Media Footage and Administration Statements

Trump has for weeks warned that US forces are poised to widen the military campaign by striking objectives inside Venezuela, a move that would theoretically require legislative authorization.

Video footage posted online on 24 December seemed to depict an explosion allegedly from an industrial area in Zulia state. But, the video or the site in question has not been independently verified.

An official from Trump's team allegedly informed a news network that the former president was describing a drug facility in his remarks.

Reaction and Ongoing Military Posture

The Caracas administration has remained silent on the alleged strike Trump referenced. Furthermore, there have been no corroborating news from Venezuela regarding it.

The buildup of American forces in the region – a stance certain officials have called a maritime "quarantine" – marks the most expansive naval operation of his time in office.

Sources have refrained from describing the operation as a full blockade, but have stated that about 15,000 troops are deployed across the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf, including a carrier strike group, F-35 aircraft, and Coast Guard cutters to implement current sanctions.
